"Mislead"'s Dream:
dream: "This dream was about my 5 month old son. I dreamt that my son was having surgery,my family was their. In my dream the nurse was forceing me to cut each side of my sons face with a scalpel as she was forcing me to do this I was turning my head and crying, all of the sudden my sister D. screamed his face is bleeding and the nurse asked if it was from both sides and my sister said yes then the nurse put gauze on his face and the said hes dead ive cut his jugular as she was saying this to me my son looked at me and his eyes were filled with blood. The last thing I remember is beating the s*** out of the nurse."
"Mislead"'s Dream Interpretation:
Each person who appears in our dream
is actually representing an aspect of our Self, and not the other person at all;
unless the dream is precognitive. Precognitive dreams are usually more realistic
with less discrepancies, such as in real life, your family would not be allowed
in an O.R., nor would you. Plus you would not be asked to cut your own child. So
I will interpret this dream as just that...a dream. Let's see what we
discover...
As I say elsewhere in my webpage:
Every person that appears in a dream is
supposed to represent an aspect of Self, and not actually be about that other
person at all. Rather, it is a quality or characteristic about that person that
your dream is focusing on. Try to think about what aspect(s) this could be. It
can be something you admire and wish to emulate, and incorporate into your own
personality, or it could be a more negative characteristic that you may dislike
intensely in your waking life, but which is telling you something about yourself
and your beliefs, judgements, attitude. It could be a call to alter your
thinking in some manner, in order to be more open-minded and accepting of this
aspect in their personality. The other person in your dream is always mirroring
something back to you about YOURSELF. Try to discover what that something is,
and go from there.
Try to figure out what characteristics you may mirror in this person
(describe them as if to a stranger, and there you have their oustanding
characteristics or features.) and then apply them to yourself in the context of
this dream.
SURGERY: symbolizes the need for repair. However,
since this repair is being done under "bad advisement" by someone who is
supposed to be helping (what the nurse symbolizes a need for), then this is a
warning to you that the advice given to you about something in your life is
harmful, and will "cut like a knife." This person may be yourself, trying to
fool yourself into believing something is working, when it is not-and you know
it, deep down. This may be evidenced by the "two-faced" cuts on your son's face,
and the way he looks at YOU with blood-filled eyes.
BLOOD is a symbol of losing energy and one's life
force. Lying to one's Self is harmful, and would account for this symbol. I'm
not saying lying on purpose...I'm talking about the kind of way we all hide the
truth from ourselves because it hurts, or we don't want to admit something.
However, in this case, your dream is telling you that hiding the truth from
yourself is hurting you much more deeply. This is also symbolized by you crying
in the dream. Notice you "turn your head away"--another symbol of not looking at
the truth before you. This issue may also be affecting your son, and you may
feel guilt over it, but feel "forced into" the situation. In the dream, this is
an illusion. How could any nurse force you to cut your own son? You wouldn't do
it. You would cut her, first!
You mention that other family members are there, but your sister D. is the
only other main character who speaks out. Figure out where she fits into your
dream. Only the dreamer can decide what people in their dreams mean to them,
personally. For example, is your sister one who frequently warns you not to do
something that could hurt you? If so, an aspect within yourself is mirroring
this in you.
CUTTING THE JUGULAR : this is a warning that this
issue is a serious one for you; symbolic of one's lifeblood. This problem can
potentially cause you great pain and harm in your life, if you are not able to
find the strength within yourself to look at the situation this dream
represents, and make choices that are right for YOU.
BEATING THE S*** out of the nurse: this is akin to
killing the messenger. The nurse is a symbol that healing is needed. You may not
like this reality, and resist it. ..but it exists, just the same.
"Mislead", this dream interp may sound like I'm trying to be judgemental, but
I hope you don't see it that way. These are your own dream's symbols, and I'm
just telling you what they mean in my own humble opinion. We are all most
judgemental about our own selves. If this touches on a painful issue in your
life, I hope you will be able to come to terms with it and find a peaceful
outcome for yourself. It takes true courage--I've been there, I know!
Now for my usual disclaimer....please take any interpretations as suggestions
to sift through and "try on for size," and only keep what seems to "fit" in your
situation. If it feels true to you, go with your intuition. If it doesn't feel
true, or off-kilter in some way, then explore further for answers that do seem
to fit. It might take several re-readings to understand the concept of this
interpretation, so just let it sink in. My interpretation isn't meant to be
therapy or professional advice, but I sure hope it helped!
Ultimately, each individual dreamer must decide what their own dreams mean.
Please do not take anyone's word as "gospel" if it doesn't feel right to you,
whether they have a PH.D or all the experience and fancy titles in the world. If
it doesn't hit the mark for *you*, then it's not for you. You'll know.
Please let me know what your thoughts are on the interpretation. I appreciate
your feedback.
Again, congratulations on winning a free dream interpretation, and I hope it
was helpful for you!
